Frequently asked questions
We address your concerns
Is it really free?
Yes, 100% free. No bank card required to sign up, no commitment, no hidden charges. That is our commitment to the community.
How long does it take to create my account?
About thirty seconds. Email, password, that's all.
What if someone else has the same name?
Our team checks every claim request (current club, career, photo) to avoid conflicts. Approval takes up to 48 working hours.
Can I close my account later?
Yes, at any time. But two things need to be distinguished to understand what is erased and what is not.
Your personal data (email, profile photo, biography, contact details, listings, pro profile) is deleted or anonymised on simple request. It belongs to you and you stay in control of it, in line with the GDPR.
Your public data (matches played, scores, statistics, honours, transfers, team sheets), however, is kept. Why? Because it forms journalistic archives of public interest, just like any sports press database. The French press freedom law of 29 July 1881 and the GDPR itself (Article 17(3)(a)) explicitly provide for this exception: a score, a referee's report or a list of honours cannot be erased on individual request, otherwise the collective history of rugby would fade away over time.
In practice: we guarantee your GDPR rights over everything relating to your personal identity, and we preserve the sports archives, like any media outlet covering rugby. Full GDPR policy in the footer.
Why create an account if my profile already exists?
Without an account, your profile is filled in automatically from public data (often incomplete). With an account, you take back control of your profile (photo, bio, pro profile), you post your listings, and you get access to the full data history (archived seasons, detailed statistics), which is not available to visitors.
Who is It's Rugby?
The largest French rugby database: 66,000+ players, 2,400+ teams, 200,000+ matches analysed, 145+ competitions covered. An independent project, with no intrusive advertising and no resale of data.
