Gibert has spent his whole career at Racing, whom he joined as a youngster from AC Boulogne-Billancourt.
According to L’Equipe, Bayonne, whose director of rugby Laurent Travers coached him for years at Racing, had shown strong interest. The player chose to stay, as did back-rower Maxime Baudonne, who was also courted by Bayonne.
Ramos at 10 next season
The extension comes as Thomas Ramos prepares to join Racing after the 2027 World Cup, with a guarantee that he will play fly-half. Gibert, who can cover both half-back positions, has been here before with Owen Farrell in 2024, and before that with Finn Russell.
Antoine Gibert | L'EquipeI’m very happy to share the dressing room with Thomas Ramos. His arrival is good news for Racing.
A strong start
Gibert has played all six of Racing’s Top 14 games this season, four as a starter, scoring three tries: a brace against Perpignan, then Racing’s try in Toulon on Saturday. He has made 169 Top 14 appearances for the club since 2016, scoring 483 points. His 2025-26 season was his most prolific, with 150 points in 22 games.
Antoine Gibert | L'EquipeIt’s the choice of continuity, yes, but with the idea of trying to win something with your boyhood club, because that would be even stronger.
