The news was announced on Thursday in a hall in the Hérault city. The 77-year-old businessman had already stood as a candidate back in 2020, when he finished third in the first round.

A few weeks ago, word came that Serge Blanco, a France icon and former president of Biarritz Olympique, was standing in the municipal elections in the town of Biarritz.
